Why I built it

Why I built it

Why I built it

I built Wise Mind Nutrition from a deep passion for nutrition, mental health, and bridging the gap between them. After years of working with clients and witnessing the transformative power of food on mood and brain health, I knew I had to create an accessible tool.

I'm thrilled to share this journey with you and to be a part of your path to better health and happiness. Shallow nutrition is a thing of the past.

Dr. David Wiss is an independent thinker unafraid to challenge the status quo in the nutrition field. Dr. Wiss pioneered the field of nutrition for addiction recovery and is a world-renowned expert in disordered eating. His mental health research bridges gaps between neurological, psychological, behavioral, and nutritional sciences.

Dr. David has treated over 1,000 patients in the last twelve years using a food-positive functional medicine approach through his practice, Nutrition In Recovery. Dr. Wiss has developed innovative methods for using nutrition to improve mental health without feeling like a “diet.” Dr. Wiss believes gut health is the key to brain health and wants to show you how to heal yourself.

After conducting original research and developing a unique framework for treating individuals and in group settings, Dr. Wiss put all his clinical pearls into the Wise Mind Nutrition app. It's finally here for you and your loved ones.

Dr. Wiss is available for treatment, coaching, professional supervision, consulting, speaking, and manuscript collaboration. He recognizes that we desperately need a paradigm shift in the nutrition field to mobilize access. The vision is clear: we need to improve patient outcomes in mental health settings, and the time for new frameworks is here and now.
